Beavers

Beavers

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.

Lodges

Each Colony is split into four Lodges, Ash, Beech, Birch and Oak.  Each Lodge has their corner of the room and this is where you are asked to leave any personal items and work done during the course of the evening.  Beavers are usually allocated to a Lodge for the whole of their time in the Colony, sometimes to balance the age profiles of the Lodges we will move a child to another Lodge in this circumstance the child will always be given a choice. On rare occasions we have found it necessary to separate children into different Lodges.

Each Lodge has a Leader, and this is done mostly on an age basis.  If there are too many moving on at the end of the term then a Leader may have to stand down to let someone else have their chance.
